Born in Queens, New York, Tyshawn Maurice Nicholson a.k.a. Ty Nickels, was raised in Freeport, New York. At the age of 12, his uncle gave him his first taste of old school hip hop and R&B. From that point on, his curiosity to learn the art of rhyming had become a vital lesson in his life. Within a short period of time, his skills had begun to take shape. His ability to write lyrics increased with captivating energy and versatility.

After graduating high school, Ty decided to focus on his natural talent. Hustling to get his music out on the market, Ty stated working with producers and artist with similar goals. Musically he's got an ear for the beats he likes to rhyme to. This entails music that focuses on radio hit and tracks related to the streets.
