Brandon Smith aka Signature now residing in Kunkletown Poconos was born in Livingston NJ on 2/23/91; has an older brother who supports music and a younger sister who is into dancing, but is still too young to determine if she would follow in his footsteps and share his passion of music.His parents support his desire and passion for music.

Brandon was most fascinated by how words were put together and hearing the different sounds. Music videos, poetry and rappers such as LL Cool J, Rakim and Jay-Z inspired and influenced him.He recalls watching music videos and amazed at how rappers would write and rap their own rhythms. Brandon was amused and wanted to be just like the rappers. He expressed that rapping is like preaching your own words and feelings.Brandon has been rapping since 9 years old and enjoys every bit of it.His first performance was at the age of 12, where he participated in a rapping battle and performed for 500 people.He battled 12 other teens and won.

When asked who does he compare himself to, his response was “no comparisons”; he looks at the other rappers style and flow and creates his own style. He did admit, however he does see some similarities between him and Drake, who happens to be one of his hip hop role models.

At age 19, Signature can be classified as a rapper and a ghost writer. He enjoys writing for others because as he puts it “it’s like building characters and telling a creative story”. He enjoys writing for others because it gets people involved.

When asked where does he see himself in five years, he replied still rapping and told us “but, in 10 years, I see myself as a CEO of a record label, a beyond the scene, making it happen man, still being able to come on stage and rap”.
